Day 30: Self isolation

This was our garden in Tehran.
Our garden under hail.
I miss it so much.
I wonder who is taking care of my trees now?

Day 10: Self isolation

We woke up late today.

I forgot to tell you, from yesterday we started doing some exercise. 40 minutes of exercise with weights.

Weather is amazing. It's a torture to stay in.

Online shopping has stopped. We should not be more than three people together in the streets. In public places we need to stay away from each other with two meters apart. Pubs & restaurants are closed. People are still out in so many neighbourhoods.

I know for a fact that I'm lucky that my job is not affected with this virus. I will stay sane & get the best out of this quarantine.

These days for me is all about food, work, quality time with us. Today I felt we are real adults. The feeling of trust, safety and love was all over me. So much love for this feeling.

There will be loads of food photos on the way.

Sorry for scattered sentences.

Day 9: Self isolation

If last year, on this day someone would come to me and would tell me:

"A year from now, a pandemic virus will make you sit at home for weeks."

I would be like, "Fuck off".

Well you never know what's in the cards for you.

So when I say self-isolation, I do not mean that I have not left the house. I did. I went out twice. With full gear. Masks, gloves & not getting close to anyone.

This while coronavirus is changing human behavioural I think. I ordered some cheese from this amazing place I found (La Latteria) last week. I wanted to order some for him so he would not miss home. Today the delivery came, instead of asking us for our signature when we got the cheese, he took a photo from him! Haha. I laughed.

It's crazy to say this but so far I have been enjoying this self-isolation.

We have started watching "The Outsider". Very dark. A bit scary.

I try to do yoga everyday.
Today we planted a chilli pepper.

Pasta with ricotta, basil and tomato
*I have decided to document every day of my self-isolation.

Safe & Sound;

I have chosen me. Over others.

It feels right.

Happy Monday!

Everyday I walk passed by these trees. Spring is here.

May all the wishes come true;

My friend sent me a message:

"Elina, I wish you the wind so it takes you straight to the ocean where you can surf".

How beautiful and awesome is this wish?!

Joy, love and peace;

I am back to Istanbul.

Cappadocia was awesome. The landscape was breath-taking. All those caves and stones were just so beautiful.
From the second day the weather got better so we could go out and explore the valleys and open air museums around. i will post the photos in flickr shortly.

With Mark and Jessica we walked, talked and laughed. We talked about life, love, death and how amazing life can be. We talked a lot about how I should record this video that I want to send to surf office, at the end we didn’t. When I got back I recorded it on the way to Mina’s house. I sent them last night. Let’s hope for the best. Cat says, “you should not be worried about things you can not control”, and I keep repeating it to myself.

Back to Cappadocia, I met a group of friends and we had such a good time with all of them. It’s really interesting when people come out of their shells and how they share, laugh together.
I really appreciate it.

I am busy right now and can’t write the way I want.

Enjoy the photo below till I share rest of them on flickr:)

Bests.

Breathe in, Breathe out;

Everyday people are dying around the world and I just get the news. I search their name and read about their life.

These days I keep thinking about other people. Their problem, their struggles and their feelings. For first time I don’t feel any responsibility towards them, but for first time I understand them. I mean I have come to the point of understanding the changes between people. When someone is stuck in a destructive relationship, or when someone is not happy with how they look, or when the other one cannot decide which aspect of his life means more to him.

I think there are few people who are able to figure out themselves, I think for most of us we have to experience life. And through experience we will learn what matters the most.

I can be happy with simple things. I am not searching for power. I am trying to find peace. It’s peace that pushing me to nature, not to shout, love music and adore walking. It’s peace that motivates me to go on my mat everyday and stretch. When I am doing yoga, I feel that I am paying attention to my body, to all the muscles which have served me nearly 10 years and I didn’t thank them. I think they are all my responsibility, not people around me. My responsibility towards others are with giving them passion. Giving them hope and introduce them their inner body. Their breath.

Every inhalation of the breath prolongs life and every expiration of it gladdens our nature; wherefore every breath confers two benefits and for every benefit gratitude is due.
